Boring laundry could be obsolete, with new tech from UC Davis researchers. Photo Paolo/Flickr. Forget washing your clothes. In the future, you may be able to clean your shirt just by taking a walk in the sun.

Students at UC Davis have worked out a way to mix cotton with a compound that reacts to light. When hit by photons, the compound — 2-anthraquinone carboxylic acid — reacts and produces hydroxyl radicals and hydrogen peroxide.

Hydrogen peroxide, you will remember, is used to bleach hair and propel rockets.

HTC investigating potential Sense security flaw

. A report was recently published by Android Police that suggests HTC's Sense user interface has several major security flaws that provide HTC with access to SMS data, phone numbers, system logs, location information and much more. Worse, the flaw could potentially allow any third-party application to access the same private information without having permission from the user to do so. The security issue has been identified on the HTC ThunderBolt, EVO 4G and EVO 3D. “HTC takes our customers' security very seriously, and we are working to investigate this claim as quickly as possible,” HTC said in a statement.

Sprint's Kyocera Duramax Released

Sprint has announced the availability of the Kyocera Duramax. This rugged flip phone supports Sprint's Direct Connect Push-To-Talk service, a 3-megapixel digital camera with LED flash and video recording support, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, a 2.5mm stereo headphone jack and a GPS navigation. The handset is encased in a non-slip Dura-Grip material for sure hold and extra durability. Sprint sells the Kyocera Duramax for $69.99 with a new two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Each purchase comes equipped with a 1GB microSD memory card.
