Not sure that I've ever had this issue, but if your mouse isn't sliding properly, maybe you need a set of Fliders: slippers for your mouse. Fliders are made in the USA and designed to fix to the bottom of your optical mouse to reduce the friction felt when moving it.  The material is made to glide over smooth surfaces with more ease and less noise and works with any optical mouse regardless of brand or model.
