Samsung Galaxy Note discontinued by T-Mobile?

T-Mobile may have canceled the Samsung Galaxy Note that it just launched a couple of weeks ago. And without an official word on the matter. Apparently, remaining stock will be sold by TMo and its partners, but no new units are being ordered. The End-Of-Life (EOL) date is November 1. That though remains subject to change, since the magenta carrier could deplete its inventory sooner.

The Galaxy Note has disappeared from T-Mobile's website, and it appears as backordered at third-party retailers.

Nikon D7000 listed as being discontinued by manufacturer on Amazon.de

The other day we reported that it seemed that the Nikon D700 had been discontinued in the US. However thanks to a spotting on Amazon.de by the folks at Nikon Rumors, it seems that the online retailer has listed the Nikon D7000 as having been discontinued by the manufacturer. It seems a little sudden and we're not sure if Amazon meant the D700, not the D7000, or maybe we could be looking at a hint that the Nikon D7000 will be meeting its end very soon. In any case if the D7000 is a camera you were considering, you should probably make your decision soon.

LG Display starts volume production of in-cell touch screens, we have a hunch as to who wants them

Looks like we'll be finding in-cell touch displays in our devices sooner rather than later: LG Display has confirmed that it's been mass-producing the thinner LCDs since earlier in August. CEO Han Sang-beom also notes that manufacturing has been going as smooth as, well, glass. Despite the complexity of building touch input directly into a display, the company expects to keep the supply going “without any fail,” according to the executive. As to who's making the orders. LG Display isn't naming its customers on the record, and production could be as much for its sister company's phones and tablets as anyone else's.

Rovio takes Angry Birds Space for a spin with NASA's Curiosity Mars Rover, teases Red Planet for fall (video)

It was almost as inevitable as gravity, really. Rovio has teamed up with NASA to offer a special, Curiosity-themed episode inside Angry Birds Space. The trek has the avians scouring 20 levels of the Martian landscape with a few bonuses thrown in for good measure. Just like your favorite childhood breakfast cereal, there's even a token healthy ingredient - in this case, a chance for gamers to learn about Curiosity's exploration whenever they're not busy smashing pigs. Android and iOS users can dip into the new chapter right after they update, but that's not even the full extent of Rovio's plans.

New Chinese car can be driven by remote control

The successor to the BYD F3 has gone through a couple of name changes on its way to production, finally settling on Su Rui, but its USP has been locked in since the beginning: remote control operation. That's right, a full-sized, road-legal sedan that can be driven by remote control. Of course, the R/C functionality has strict limitations: the Su Rui has a max speed of two kilometers an hour when being operated remotely and it only works when the operator is no more than 33 feet away. But who cares about that – it's a full-size R/C car.

Milktape: A USB Drive Shaped Like a Cassette Tape

Milktape: A USB Drive Shaped Like a Cassette Tape

If you grew up during the 80s and 90s, you probably know how to make a mixtape. I, for one, remember it like it was yesterday: I put the blank cassette tape into the recorder, turned on the FM radio, and recorded every No Doubt, Christina Aguilera, and Ace of Base song until the tape runs out. Sadly kids nowadays could never experience simple joys like such, at this age when you could simply dunk thousands of songs in one drive. They can, however, simulate making a mixtape with the new MilkTape, a USB drive shaped like a cassette tape.

The Indian government has not gotten into the good books of its people in the past, and it seems as though the latest development is going to help it nudge towards that direction either. In fact, the government of the day faced a potential backlash of angry Twitter users after they ordered Internet service providers to block approximately 20 accounts which, according to officials, claim had spread scare-mongering material which had the potential to threaten national security. The Indian government threatened “appropriate and suitable action” against Twitter if it failed to remove the accounts as soon as possible.

If there was one particular group of people who love the Logitech Washable Keyboard K310, it would most probably be folks who tend to eat while they work. Not everything that can be eaten is shoveled into your mouth using a utensil like a fork or a spoon, as there is this thing known as finger food. A slice of pizza always tastes a whole lot better when you eat using your hands, and to wash your fingers after each bite so that you can return to your work is quite the hassle, leaving you with a completed dissertation at the end of the day, albeit that comes with a price as well – a greasy keyboard.

The same could apply while listening to radio which is why plugging in media players into vehicles or popping in a CD would be a more attractive alternative. However if you're too lazy to switch channels or the radio station, a recently discovered patent by Apple has revealed a system where users can switch away from commercials either from radio or video and replace it with stored media instead, like a song on your phone.

Origin whips out dual-wielding EON17-SLX laptop with SLI / CrossFireX support

Origin's introducing the brawny EON17-SLX to its adoring public of hardcore gamers. The 17-inch laptop comes packing professionally overclocked Ivy Bridge CPUs and the option to add dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M or similarly paired AMD Radeon HD 7970M units - offering performance that might even be able to run Crysis 3. While you'll only be able to pick up the gear in a traditional-style body initially, the company's working on custom paint options including matte black and red.
