The Commercial Juicer

The Commercial Juicer

For those who wish to make fruit juice quickly and in large quantities in a short time, getting a factory based juicer may not always be ideal. But if there might be a more portable device with some commercial capabilities to make fruit juice, then it would be a better alternative. This Commercial Juicer from Hammacher Schlemmer might just do the trick. The Commercial Juicer is actually designed for restaurants that require to make up fruit juices for customers who might order them and want them fresh. The Commercial Juicer is capable of making up to 84 oz. of fruit juice a minute. Whole fruits can be placed on its chute.

The company announced a reorganization (or "strategic realignment") today that will see it comprised of three different business units: Home Robots, Military Robots and Emerging Technologies. That last group includes things like the Ava mobile robotics platform, which iRobot hopes will eventually be used in everything from healthcare to retail to security applications.

ZTE PF 100 hands-on at Mobile World Congress 2012 (video)

ZTE's been making some slow, but steady progress as it transitions from no name, white label manufacturer to more of a well-known brand. Aiding the company in that exact mission is one of its latest tablets, the PF 100, shown off by NVIDIA at this year's Mobile World Congress. The apparently stock Android 4.0.3 slate packs a Tegra 3 CPU inside and 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display. The unit we saw is far from a finished production model, given the fact that it was literally bursting apart at the seams and appeared as if it'd been roughly handled.

Melkus lacquers up RS2000 Black Edition for Geneva debut

Melkus lacquers up RS2000 Black Edition for Geneva debut

What's the difference between black and piano black. Lacquer, and lots of it. Whether they're making an actual piano or trimming out a car to the same effect, craftsman will typically apply six layers of clearcoat to give the wood that deep, lustrous shine (compared to the three layers featured on high-end auto bodies). When applied to cars, it's usually done as trim on the interior dashboard, but with the RS2000 Black Edition, Melkus has finished the entire car that way.
Now if you haven't heard of Melkus, don't worry – it's not exactly one of the top automakers in the world.

Sony's 2012 Xperia series gets together for awkward family portrait

While Sony's newly-christened Xperia phones are a bit difficult to tell apart, there's nothing quite like getting the whole clan together to tell these statement slabs apart. It's largely about the size and build differences here - while the 4.3-inch Xperia S readies itself for retail stores very soon, the middleweight Xperia P is showing off its aluminum unibody frame. The Xperia U then shyly rounds out the series with the smallest footprint of the bunch.

But with the arrival of the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0), it appears the popular Android manufacturer has an ace in its sleeve. The slate leaps past its cousins with the latest build of Ice Cream Sandwich out of the gate, although it still reps the same 1024 x 600 PLS TFT display, 3MP rear camera, 4,000mAh battery and dual-core setup. We had a chance to get a real feel for the tablet, so join us after the break as we parse through our initial impressions.

Security bug in iOS lets apps secretly access your photos

Security bug in iOS lets apps secretly access your photos

A security issue has been identified in iOS which gives third party applications and its developers unsolicited access to your photos. According to The New York Times who uncovered this issue, an application that has the permission to use your location can also access your photos. They demonstrated this by commissioning a developer to create a dummy app (which was not submitted to the App Store) that popped up a notification asking the user for location (as seen above) and when provided had complete access to the photos stored on the device.

Jaguar unveils new global brand direction with 'Alive' commercial

Jaguar's turnaround has taken its next public step with a new global brand direction and a marketing campaign called "Alive." The marketing will lock in on Jaguar's visceral connection with buyers, "positioning the brand as animate – seductive, emotional, unique, energetic and high-performance – while asking consumers, "How alive are you?". It will be supported on television, in print, on the web and with events, and will attempt to explain to younger buyers not only why they should be considering a Jaguar, but what Jaguar means as a brand.

Translogic gets inside look at Rinspeed's concept shop

Another week brings another action-packed episode of Translogic. Our sister site continues its tour of Europe with a trip to Switzerland's Rinspeed. If there's a car builder that more resembles a toy company for adults, we can't imagine it. Host Bradley Hasemeyer got a full demonstration of several remarkable vehicles during his visit. The sQuba submarine car is straight out of James Bond, though it's based on a more modern Lotus than the famous Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. The similarly amphibious Splash can operate as either a car, boat or hovercraft.

Volvo not bringing new V40 to these United States

Volvo not bringing new V40 to these United States

There are some cars we enjoy writing about more than others. Those tend to be the ones with the big horsepower numbers and seldom more than two doors, but the new Volvo V40 that was officially released today stands as an exception, because while it is hardly what you'd call exotic, it did pique our interest more than a workaday hatchback should. But we'll have to try not to like it too much, because we just received confirmation that it is not, we're sorry to report, coming to the United States.
