Antares Luxury Smartphone Unveiled

Antares Luxury Smartphone Unveiled

If there's one drawback to a luxury phone is that apart from its premium materials on the outside, typically under the hood there's really not much to boast about. We've seen companies such as Vertu and Tag Heuer release luxury phones in the past, and now joining them would be the Antares, a smartphone designed by the folks at the Tonino Lamborghini Group hailing from Italy, who pride themselves in the creation of luxury accessories.

Japanese motorcycles moving into forced induction

Japanese motorcycles moving into forced induction

While turbocharging and supercharging may be nothing new in the automotive industry, motorcycle engines are almost always naturally aspirated. But even that's beginning to change. At the Tokyo Motor Show last week, two major Japanese companies showed off new forced-induction motorbike engines. Kawasaki rolled in with a supercharged four-cylinder motorbike engine. It offered little in the way of details, disclosing only that the turbine blades were developed in-house to withstand the heat and vibration of spooling up at motorbike speeds.

Suzuki is taking a different approach, however.

Owners Of Large Screen Devices Tend To Use More Data, According To Study

It has been shown recently that phablets, or rather phones with larger than normal displays, are catching on and have been catching on for a while. Q3's smartphone shipments saw that 21% of their shipments were from phablets alone, so safe to say there are many who fans of large displays for their smartphones. While it might not necessarily be practice in terms of putting it into pockets or placing it next to your face when making phone calls, we certainly see its appeal. Its larger display allows for websites to show off more content comfortably, and watching movies and playing games is also more enjoyable as well.

Retina iPad Mini's Display Ranks A "Distant Third" Compared To Nexus 7 And Kindle Fire HDX

When Apple announced the iPad mini with Retina display, many rejoiced. After all this was one the most wanted features for the iPad mini's successor. However it was discovered not too long ago that the Retina iPad mini actually displays less color when compared to the likes of the iPad Air, and now according to the experts at DisplayMate, they have ranked Apple's Retina iPad mini as a "distant third" when compared to the likes of the Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. This apparently due to Apple deciding to use "old technology" rather than new.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Might Not Have OIS After All [Rumor]

It was just recently when the alleged specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 was leaked and according to the rumors, one of the alleged features of the upcoming device is a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) on board. However as it turns out, a rumor from ETNews, it has been suggested that perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S5's camera might not come with OIS after all. Apparently this is due to Samsung unable to get all the necessary components in time, which means that OIS for the Galaxy S5 will be omitted and instead be reserved for Samsung's devices later in 2014, presumably the Galaxy Note 4 as being one of them.

Good to know that Redbox has already introduced a new update for the iPhone app, where this time around, one will be able to enjoy AirPlay streaming support.

Texas Toyota dealer has tradition of selling cars for a buck on Black Friday

Every year since 2008, Sterling McCall Toyota in Houston has sold cars for $1 on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and what used to be the unofficial start of holiday shopping (which arguably starts much earlier nowadays), Automotive News reports. The "Slicer Sale" tradition was started to draw people to the dealership on Black Friday, a day when mobs of shoppers are out looking for deals - just usually not a car. But Sterling McCall Toyota has changed all that with its extraordinary annual sale, which draws in hoards of people as early as 5:00 AM, before the dealership opens.

This week in Europe, Sony and third party publishers like Ubisoft and Electronic Arts were the subject of criticism when gamers discovered that the prices for digital game downloads from PlayStation Network were higher than their counterparts on the Xbox One store. Titles that were priced higher include FIFA 14, Assassin's Creed 4 and Battlefield 4. Even when the games' prices were reduced to £60 from the previous £63 price, they were still £5 more expensive than on the Xbox One store. Sony confirms to Eurogamer that it will adjust the prices prior to the PlayStation 4′s launch in Europe.

Suzuki GSX-R owner smokes out the kitchen

Dear Internets, with Thanksgiving on the way, we feel now is a good time to thank you for all the weird stuff you deliver on a daily basis. That includes the memes, GIFs, and videos that make us laugh and scratch our heads at the same time. Take this gem, for example. For reasons that aren't readily obvious in the 29-second video, this is a man doing a burnout on a Suzuki GSX-R in a kitchen. We've no idea what prompted either the burnout or the setting, but it is one of the stranger videos we've seen lately.

In reality, running a motor vehicle of any sort indoors is a bad idea.

In addition to the chassis it builds for such classes as GP2, GP3, Formula 3 and World Series by Renault, the Italian company made both the previous and current chassis for the IndyCar series, as well as the current cars used in the Indy Lights feeder series. And now it has revealed the initial design for its new Indy Lights chassis. Called the IL-15, the latest Dallara will form the backbone of the series that Andersen Promotions aims to revitalize starting after next season as the penultimate stage in the Road to Indy program.

Earlier this year, Polestar jumped from the racetrack to the showroom with its own take on the Volvo S60 sedan. That, of course, would be the Countryman, which is already bigger than anything else ever to wear the Mini badge. But if you think the current Countryman is already big enough, the latest reports suggest that it could get even bigger.

Why Android 4.4 went with white (and why we can no longer see network activity in the status bar)

Why Android 4.4 went with white (and why we can no longer see network activity in the status bar)

With Android 4.4 KITKAT, Google brought a ton of changes. Most of those were new features and under-the-hood goodness, but Google also brought a few significant aesthetic changes that had some people a little uneasy. For starters, they eliminated the blue and decided that white was going to be the one, and only, color for things like keyboard text, status bar text and icons, and the trace trail inside the keyboard. Another key change Google made was moving the network status indicators from the status bar to within the quick settings toggle menu.

Auggiedog Automatic Pooper Scooper review

Auggiedog Automatic Pooper Scooper review

If you have a dog, chances are you also have a few good dog doo war stories about the time the bag you were using to scoop the poop had a hole in it or the time you stepped in something right before work because the kids didn't want to pick up Spot's droppings from the night before.  Classic gems.  Let's face it, no one wants to bend over and pick up dog poop. The Auggiedog Automatic Pooper Scooper eliminates the need to bend over or even touch your dog's waste.

Volvo wants this car to be the Crown Vic of global police fleets

Volvo wants this car to be the Crown Vic of global police fleets

It has been years since the last Ford Crown Victoria rolled off the assembly line, but these body-on-frame sedans are still the most recognizable police cars in the US. Volvo is making a strong push in hopes that its XC70 can attain the same level of success as a global police car. As it is, Volvo is a popular choice for police cars in its home country of Sweden, but its cars are also used in police fleets in the UK, Belgium and Switzerland.

Qualcomm's Toq Smartwatch To See A 2nd Of December Release

Qualcomm's Toq Smartwatch To See A 2nd Of December Release

Smartwatches are definitely the "in" thing in technology these days and if the recent wave of smartwatches have not managed to meet your criteria, fret not because Qualcomm's own smartwatch, the Toq, will be seeing a release on the 2nd of December (Cyber Monday) and will be priced at $350. This price makes it a tad more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Gear although we don't know yet if the $50 price difference is justified or not. We first caught wind of the Toq smartwatch back in July when a trademark was filed, and it was a couple of months after that the device was actually announced.

This Horror Game's Difficulty Will Increase The More Afraid You Are

This Horror Game's Difficulty Will Increase The More Afraid You Are

Playing video games can get your heart going, especially if you're playing some kind of horror game. But what if the game's difficulty were to increase when it detects that you are afraid. Well that's what the game "Nevermind" is trying to accomplish. By strapping players with a Garmin cardio chest strap, similar to those worn by athletes who want to measure their heart rate, and attached to an ANT+ USB stick, the sensor will transmit the data to the game and when it detects your elevated heart rate, the game's difficulty will increase similarly as well.

Microsoft Files For Quiet Time Patent Application

Microsoft Files For Quiet Time Patent Application

We have seen an earlier patent application by Microsoft that had something to do with a skin sensing bezel on a potential tablet down the road, and here we are with yet another patent application by the software giant, where it could be used to help prevent a teenager's phone from being able to make an outgoing phone call while one is driving, or to prevent audio from emanating from a phone's speakers while one is within a movie theater. The whole idea of this patent does sound as though it would come in handy not only for teenagers, but for adults as well.

Huawei President Confirms Octa-core Ascend P6S

Most phones these days are of the quad-core variety, and are usually running either Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset, NVIDIA's Tegra 4, or Samsung's Exynos 5-series (these are usually exclusive for Samsung's products). However it seems that we might be able to look forward to an octa-core phone from Huawei in the near future, as it was recently confirmed by the company's president himself. According to Huawei President, Xu Xin Quan, he has recently confirmed that the Ascend P6 will be getting a successor in the form of the Ascend P6S that will feature a true octa-core processor which will be powered by MediaTek.
