Android Design Head Praises Facebook Home's Attention To Design

Facebook Home for Android was launched to much fanfare, though it hasn't received the best of reviews so far. Regardless of the fact that it was downloaded half a million times in the first week alone, its popularity on Google Play Store has reportedly dipped, with most of the downloaders leaving a one-star review. That hasn't stopped Google from praising Home, first it was Eric Schmidt who said that Facebook Home is a testament to the openness of Android. Now Android Design Head, Matias Durate, is singing its praises.

HTC 608t Shows Up In China's Phone Database

HTC 608t Shows Up In China's Phone Database

A couple of weeks ago we reported about a mysterious HTC device that had been spotted in the Chinese phone database, the model carried a HTC 606W moniker. It was believed that this particular smartphone is going to be HTC M4 which ships without Facebook Home pre-installed, but its not. This device is expected to be released only in the Chinese market but in the U.S. it would definitely make for a good mid-range device. Now yet another unreleased HTC phone has showed up in China's database.
It bears striking resemblance to the HTC One SV and carries the 608t moniker.

Rumor: new Samsung tablets include 11-inch Octa-Core Nexus, 8-inch Galaxy Tab

With the Samsung Galaxy S4 now available and the third edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab announced, the South Korean OEM seems to be on a roll. With those devices out of the way rumors regarding a few more have popped up. According to SamMobile, Samsung is working on two new 11-inch tablets. This would mark the first time a Samsung tablet has exceed the typical 10.1-inch mark that has become so popular in the big slate game.
Dubbed the Galaxy Tab 11, it'll supposedly sport a dual-core A15-based Exynos 5250 chipset, an 8 megapixel rear camera with a 2 megapixel front camera, and a microSD card slot.

No Monster Hunter Planned For The PS Vita

No Monster Hunter Planned For The PS Vita

Capcom's Monster Hunter was available on the PSP handheld console, which is why many rightfully assumed it would eventually make its way onto the PS Vita as well, or will it. Unfortunately for PS Vita owners, it seems that if you want to enjoy Monster Hunter on your handheld console, you're out of luck unless you don't mind settling for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, which is essentially a PSP port, and while the game itself is by no means bad, we're sure Vita owners were hoping for something a little more exclusive and perhaps high-def.

The White House Now Has An Official Tumblr Page

The White House, through its official Twitter account, has announced that it now has an official Tumblr Page. It also promises that there will be GIFs, though doesn't elaborate what kind of GIFs will be uploaded to this page. Perhaps we will get to see President Obama fist bump White House staffers? We've also been promised amazing pictures of Bo, who is the first family's dog, “wonky charts,” some iconic quotes from the President and details of interesting things going on inside the White House that can be publicly shared. This administration is in no way a stranger to social media.

Japanese government chides Mitsubishi over recall delays

An official with the transport ministry in Japan has some stern words for Mitsubishi, taking the carmaker to task for not being more proactive and honest about its recalls. An investigation into The Tri-Star last December found Mitsubishi was tardy investigating problems and didn't explain itself forthrightly to the transport ministry about the issues.

Intel Haswell Prototype Has Automated Screen Size Switch In Tablet Mode

At CeBIT last month, we managed to get a hands on of the Intel Haswell prototype, and here we are with additional information concerning this computing device. This Haswell-powered North Cape prototype from Intel is able to pull one rabbit from its seemingly bottomless proverbial hat, that is, to have its 13x1080p display adjust itself to a 11.6" display whenever it is detached from the keyboard base, as you use it like a tablet device.

Living with Google Glass, Day One: the reveal

Living with Google Glass, Day One: the reveal

So how did I get here. Did I post an inspirational video online pledging why I should be an Explorer. Nothing that aspiring, sadly. As you may recall, Google first started accepting pre-orders very nearly a year ago at its I/O developer conference. After being wooed by skydivers and extreme bikers, I stood in line like everyone else and walked away with my own little individually numbered Lucite cube. This week, nearly 10 months later, I got an email. My time, it seemed, had come. Enthusiastic Google employees will ensure every aspect of Glass is perfect before letting early Explorers start exploring on their own.

Nintendo Wii U Miiverse Now Accessible On PC, Smartphones

The last we heard of the Nintendo Wii U's Miiverse was when the company announced its mobile features would be made available to smartphone and PC users “in a few weeks.” It looks like those few weeks are now behind us as Nintendo has officially launched Miiverse onto smartphones and PCs. This version of Miiverse isn't a dedicated application, so smartphone users shouldn't go looking in their respective app stores for an app. Instead, Nintendo launched the Miiverse website which can be accessed on your computer as well as your smartphone to view your Activity Feed, friends list and notifications.

Kia calls reports of second US plant 'groundless'

In discussing how Kia planned to use a focus on quality to raise its brand perception and take the fight to BMW and Audi instead of Toyota, a recent article in Automotive News Europe said one of the primary constraints was production capacity; Kia simply doesn't have the ability to make enough cars to meet its aims with the plants it has. The CEO of Hyundai-Kia is said to be reluctant to build more plants because of that focus on quality and the fact that its suppliers are stretched to the limit.

The USB Utility Charge Tool looks like multi-tool or pocket knife, but it's really a multi-bladed charging tool. There are several “blades” that you can use to charge your gadgets, including a 30 pin connector for the iPhone or iPod, a micro USB and a mini USB connector. There's also a USB adapter to connect it your computer. The only thing that isn't clear is if you can plug more than one gadget in at one time for multiple charging.

Google X Phone With Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Spotted (Rumor)

Google X Phone With Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Spotted (Rumor)

There was a rumor earlier on concerning the Motorola X Phone arriving in 20 different colors, which would be a range that would even put Nintendo and their collection of 3DS XL models to shame, and it would be a throwback to the heydays of Nokia when they rolled out as many colors as there were models. Well, it seems that a new device has been spotted on an AnTuTu benchmark, where it described the device simply as the "Google X", and not a Motorola X Phone or the X Phone, so it remains to be seen whether this device in question is the same X Phone from Motorola or not.

HTC One will transition to a new microphone component to avoid legal trouble with Nokia

For the past few days we've been covering the legal drama between HTC and Nokia over an STMicroelectronics high-amplitude microphone found inside the HTC One. Apparently, there was a slight mix up on STMicro's part, selling the component to HTC before their exclusivity agreement was up with Nokia. Many were left wondering what this meant for the HTC One who, all things considered, is riding a lot on HTC One sales, no matter the market.

It wasn't all bad news today for Nintendo as earlier today, the company reported its Wii U only sold 390,000 units in its previous quarter. Of course, we're talking about the Nintendo 3DS as the company announced it had sold a total of 13.95 million 3DS units and 49.61 million software units in the last fiscal year globally. Latest, Greatest Autobahn Bomber Will Not Be Denied – Except To Us. Nintendo announced its quarterly sales for the Wii U reached only 390,000 units since December, well after its holiday boost. In total, the Wii U has sold a total of 3.45 million units. Earlier this month, we reported on Bethesda planning to make more noise this year for its upcoming titles. They certainly caught our attention when The Evil Within was teased through a number of Vine videos. But it looks like the publisher has some more tricks up its sleeves than what looks to be a survival horror game as another title popped up on the Australian ratings board. The title that is raising some eyebrows is called “Endless Summer” and it looks to belong to Bethesda and its parent company, Zenimax.

All right, what you see above is obviously weird. Very. We are talking about the Tama-chan watermelon cooler, which would definitely find a market in Japan. After all, folks living in Japan love nothing better to do than to eat some chilled watermelon during the sweltering summers, so it makes perfect sense to see a device like this being put up on the market. Apple Could Be Looking To Replace CEO Tim Cook

Apple Could Be Looking To Replace CEO Tim Cook

This is the latest on the grapevine, that Apple's board of directors could very well be on the sly be checking out a potential replacement for current CEO Tim Cook, at least that is what Forbes reported. Forbes, of course, cited sources from Wall Street, although this particular search would still remain speculation as at press time since it cannot be confirmed, so you might want to take a grain of salt to go along with this news. Still, there is no way one can 100% discount such speculation because Apple's stock price has taken quite a battering in the past half year or so.

We've heard a lot of rumors regarding what sort of device news Google would be presenting at its developers' conference, Google I/O, next month. According to unnamed sources of SidhTech's, however, we won't be seeing that unveiled at the conference. More troubling is the possibility that we may not see a brand new Nexus device at the show.

As you can see in the image above, the iPhone case comes with a small whistle attachment at the top, and to be honest the design of the case itself isn't too bad and somewhat sleek. So why would anyone need a whistle attached to their iPhone for. Well apart from potentially being a great way to annoy friends and people nearby, its creators have suggested that the whistle can be used for safety reasons, as well as sports reasons.

Solar power is definitely the way to go where mankind is concerned, as "green energy" could very well be the thing that keeps the earth around for the next generation. Well, modern day solar collectors are able to concentrate a certain degree of energy due to safety reasons, as if you were to amass more solar energy than you are able to remain cool, you would end up frying yourself – which is not a good thing. At all.
