Is your brain predisposed to make you love Rolls-Royce?

Is your brain predisposed to make you love Rolls-Royce?

XCAR has taken a look at what could very well be one of the most quintessential British cars ever built: the 1973 Rolls-Royce Corniche. The question at hand is whether or not expensive luxury items like artisan foods, designer clothing and yes, high-end automobiles are worth their monetary cost. Do they bring some undefined additional value to the table over their low-buck counterparts, or are they simply an excellent way to part a fool from his dollar bills. While the video above can't comment on four-course meals or $400 jeans, our valiant host does have a word or two on the joy a Rolls-Royce can bring to your life.

BlackBerry Q5 hits UAE tomorrow, costs $400

BlackBerry Q5 was announced last month at a dedicated BlackBerry event. It's a QWERTY smartphone targeting emerging markets and those on a tighter budget that was supposed to hit the shelves in the early days of July. It seems the first BlackBerry Q5 stock is going to come a bit early though, as the Canadian company will be offering the Q5 at the opening of its BlackBerry Concept Retail Store in Dubai, UAE tomorrow. It will cost AED1,499, which translates to about €305 or $408.

Samsung Galaxy mini 2 won't be getting Jelly Bean after all

Samsung Galaxy mini 2 won't be getting Jelly Bean after all

Contrary to Samsung's earlier announcement, the Samsung Galaxy mini 2 won't be receiving a Jelly Bean update due to not being able to ensure the "best user experience" under Jelly Bean, according to Samsung Mobile Spain. Understandably, this will upset a lot of people, many of whom are hoping to enjoy the latest Android version from Google on their Galaxy mini 2. The Samsung Galaxy mini 2, released in March of 2012, runs on a single-core 800 MHz processor with Adreno 200 graphics, with a 3.27-inch 320 x 480 pixel display.

Will your HTC handset be updated to Android 4.2? Here's what we think

Will your HTC handset be updated to Android 4.2? Here's what we think

In the past 12 months, we've watched as HTC pushed out over a dozen different Android 4.1 updates to its devices. Android 4.2 has been around for a while (ok, a while may be an understatement since 4.2 made its debit last fall on the Nexus 4), so we thought we'd put together a list of devices which we believe will be updated to Android 4.2. Any device capable of running android 4.1 should also be able to handle Android 4.2 quite easily. Based on that logic, all HTC devices running Android 4.1 should be updated to Android 4.2. Unfortunately, things aren't always that simple.

2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante drops its mind-blowingly beautiful top

Behold the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in all its convertible glory. Like its hard top twin, the convertible Vanquish boasts a 5.9-liter V12 engine with 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. That thrust is good enough to push the car to a top speed of 183 miles per hour, and Aston Martin says the 2014 Vanquish Volante is the first of the company's convertibles to bow with body panels comprised entirely of carbon fiber. It also offers the stiffest body structure in the history of the automaker's droptop efforts.
