The next generation iPad Mini has been rumored almost since the first model became available. The main spec change that's been pegged for the iPad Mini 2 so far is a Retina Display – namely, in this case, keeping the 7.9″ form factor but bumping the resolution up to 2,048×1,536. That's the same resolution seen on the ‘full-size' 9.7″ iPad, hence the moniker.
