Oculus Rift CEO Worried That Console Long Life-Cycle Could Affect VR Innovation

Whether Sony may or may not support the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset with the PS4, the folks behind the Oculus Rift headset are a little cautious when it comes to releasing the headset for consoles. Speaking to OXM, Oculus Rift's CEO, Brendan Iribe revealed that while the more companies that get involved with virtual or augmented reality the better, he is worried that due to the long life of consoles, such as how the PS3 was planned for at least 10 years of use, could hinder the rapid innovation that he expects virtual reality technology to experience over the course of the next few years.
