China Mobile Reports 10 Million iPhone Users, Still Doesn't Carry iPhone Officially!

China Mobile Reports 10 Million iPhone Users, Still Doesn't Carry iPhone Officially!

Although it may be a niggling count to the number of iPhone users in other countries, it's still a great count since the carrier does not officially carry the iPhone. However, customers do have the option to purchase one from one of the five Apple Stores in China. China Unicom on the other hand does carry the iPhone 4, and apparently some of the users from China Unicom have unofficially swapped their carrier choice with China Mobile.

TapSense Touchscreen Technology Can Figure Out What's Touching the Screen

TapSense Touchscreen Technology Can Figure Out What's Touching the Screen

While most of us are happy with the two most common touchscreen options on tablets and smartphones – touching with our finger and with a capacitive stylus – TapSense believes there's value in recognizing many other “taps”. They claim to have technology that can sense whether you're tapping with your finger, your knuckle or your finger nail using an external microphone. A use case would include not only facilitating normal operations when using your finger but bringing up a context menu when tapping with your finger nail or performing a different operation when tapping with one of your knuckles.

Corning: Gorilla Glass is Not on the Galaxy Nexus

Corning has updated everyone via Twitter in regards to claims that the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung would be using their Gorilla Glass product. In the official press release we received just before the Hong Kong unveiling, Samsung didn’t mention anything regarding Corning’s product. The rumor came from a flyer that listed the device as having it. We’re not sure where the confusion came from but we’ll be reaching out to Samsung for comment.

The unveiling of the Nissan Juke-R prototype has been as slow and painstaking as the car's actual build. First we received initial details, a rendering and video of the project under way. Over the course of the following few weeks, Nissan continued keeping us on our toes with a series of videos showing the project coming together. Now that the vehicle has finally reached completion, the Japanese automaker has released a solitary image of the finished product.

Alibaba W800 Aliyun phone

Alibaba W800 Aliyun phone

We did mention yesterday that Alibaba is working on a Chinese iPad – not an Apple iPad that will run on the Chinese language, but rather, the Chinese version of the iPad, or a tablet of iPad epicness if you want to put it in a nicer manner. Well, the China-based company is also preparing on their second generation Aliyun-powered handset known as the W800 – which will be powered by a 1GHz processor and a Tegra 2 chipset. Apart from that, very little else is known about the highly secretive W800, although I do admit that it does sound like some sort of Sony Ericsson Walkman device from the model number itself.
