A recent image of a Nokia device has surfaced on the internet bearing the name/model "Nokia 703". Based on the image alone it looks remarkably similar to Nokia Sea Ray handset that Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop revealed a while back. Similarly the Sea Ray is also reminiscent of the MeeGo-based handset the Nokia N9, so what exactly is the Nokia 703.

Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S is the fastest Xperia smartphone up to date with a 1.4GHz Scorpion single-core processor and running on Android 2.3.4 out of the box. The Xperia arc S is almost identical with its arc predecessor but the processor. The new arc S is based on Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon chipset, which features a 1.4GHz processor, Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB RAM.

It's like AT&T just wants its consumers to only buy the 3G iPad. Just days after we snuck out leaked shots of the HTC Puccini, said tablet has gone official as the HTC Jetstream. As predicted, it's packing a 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen, 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor, Android 3.1 and HTC's latest tablet-centric edition of Sense (that'd be Sense UX). Of course, it's the first LTE / HSPA+ tablet to be announced for Ma Bell's network, but it's not like it matters.

Amazon's quad-core ‘Hollywood' tablet may ship later than expected

Amazon's second tablet, initially thought to be scheduled for a late 2011 or early 2012 launch, may not begin shipping to users until after the first quarter next year. According to a report from DigiTimes on Wednesday, Amazon will use manufacturing giant Foxconn to assemble its 10-inch tablets, and mass production is not set to begin until some time in the first quarter of 2012. Depending on when production ramps up, this likely means the tablet will not be released until the second quarter at the earliest.

Fatal Frame spinoff to use 3DS cameras in-game

Called Shinrei Shashin or "Spirit Photo", the game will allow users to take photographs of ghosts using the dual-cameras found on the Nintendo 3DS. The game will come bundled with an item called an "AR Notebook", but it's not clearly mentioned how it will be used yet though the notebook will be required for a number of game modes. Spirit Photo will also have a mode where users can take "spirit pictures" of people, which you can pit against spirits that have been snapped by other people.

T-Mobile Samsung GALAXY S II hands-on

Samsung officially revealed the T-Mobile GALAXY S II on Tuesday at a press event in New York City. The phone's specs are very similar to the European version of the GALAXY S II, but T-Mobile's model has more rounded corners and a smoother back panel. The device looks like it's primarily made of plastic, but unfortunately we couldn't get close with it because Samsung and T-Mobile kept it under glass.

Google's Android platform continued on its warpath in the U.S. last month according to new data from industry watcher comScore. ComScore on Tuesday released its July MobiLens data, showing that Android again enjoyed the biggest gains among smartphone operating systems in the U.S. Google's mobile OS grew 5.4 points compared to April to take 41.8% of the U.S. smartphone market in July. Huawei Honor leaks into the wild, prepares for ascension to the flagship throne?

Huawei's handsets may not get the high-profile, stateside attention other OEMs are subject to, but that's no reason for us to turn a blind eye to the company's efforts. Spotted out in the wild with an accompanying spec list, the Honor (or U8860) purportedly packs a 1.4GHz processor, 4-inch FWVGA LCD display, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera capable of 720p video, a thickness of 9.9mm and an unspecified version of Android 2.3. Judging by the phones Europe- and Asia-only UMTS 900MHz / 2100MHz bands, it's highly likely we won't have the honor of seeing the company's rumored flagship device grace North American shores.

Google Finally Releasing Fix for Nexus S Voice Search Bug

Just over two weeks ago, we reported on a long-withstanding bug affecting many Nexus S owners after being asked to shed some light on the matter due to Google’s lack of communication to owners regarding the problem. The bug was discovered as early as April 2011 and has since gone unsolved. Thankfully, it seems our little spotlight worked (we like to think so, anyway) as a Google employee confirmed that an OTA update that addresses this issue will be rolling out soon. The bug related to Voice Search.

Sony introduces MDR-DS7500 wireless 7.1 channel headphones

Sony has just announced what they are claiming to be the world's first wireless headphones to offer digital surround sound capabilities. The model in question is part of Sony's MDR lineup, the MDR-DS7500 and will feature Sony's latest audio processing chip. The processing chip is said to be able to provide support for up to 7.1 channel audio and Dolby ProLogic II z decoder support for surround sound reproduction.

Cheaper LED bulbs coming soon

LED bulbs may very well be the future of of lighting, but unfortunately at the moment the reason why it's not widely adopted is because unlike CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) and incandescents, they cost way too much to be widely used. Not many people out there would be willing to pay $40-$50 for a single light bulb while CFLs and incandescents can go for $4 and as low as $0.50 respectively.

Peugeot HX1 concept revealed ahead of Frankfurt

Peugeot has released a few images of its HX1 Concept car ahead of the vehicle's debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. The low-slung MPV can seat up to six adults while retaining a remarkably low drag coefficient of just 0.28. That's thanks to a few clever design tricks like wheel blades that open up to form a flat surface, as well as some clever side skirt and spoiler work. As you might expect, that's not the only show-circuit wizardry that the HX1 has to offer. Occupants enter and exit via five rear-hinged half-scissor doors.

A source has told BGR that VZW will launch the Samsung Droid Prime in October, the device we have heard rumored as the Nexus Prime The handset is still planned as the flagship device for the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich (much like the Motorola Droid was for Eclair), but for Verizon’s release the Nexus tag looks to be dropped. The launch of the Prime is the reason why Verizon chose to skip over the Samsung Galaxy S II, deciding that the Ice Cream Sandwich handset would be more competitive with the upcoming iPhone 5.

HTC Omega seen on Algerian auction site

Who would have thought that just a few days after the first few renders of the upcoming HTC Omega was leaked out, the handset has already appeared in the wild, and of all places, on an Algerian auction site. According to French blog Mon Windows Phone, the HTC Omega is a rumored Mango device that might just feature run along to a Snapdragon MSM8255 1.5GHz processor, not to mention receiving the good company of 512MB worth of RAM and a 3.8″ LCD display.

Yesterday we let you know that Amazon has a great deal going for the HTC ThunderBolt for Verizon, selling it for just one cent with a two-year new contract. But it looks like that wasn't enough for the well-known retailer, since it's decided to push the envelope a bit and create a full-on sale of Verizon 4G LTE smartphones.
