Developer DotEmu is bringing back the old-school when they debut the 1987 hit, R-Type on the Android Market this September 12th. You may remember this retro 16-bit game from back in the day when it rocked the world with (then) cutting edge graphics and frantic side-scrolling shooter gameplay. The Android edition will pretty much be a direct port of the original title but optimized with new touchscreen controls and support for Open Feint for sharing your game scores/progress. The game features tons of power-ups, enemies, boss fights and of course, the famous charge shot.
