Archos 101 G9 and 80 G9 tablets get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Archos 101 G9 and 80 G9 tablets get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Before Samsung. Before HTC. Before LG. Before Motorola.
Archos has just released the Android 4.0.3 update for the 80 G9 and 101 G9 tablets, which were launched last year running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. If you own one of Archos' G9 tablets, this is a happy day for you. And even if you don't, the French company deserves some credit as it's one of the first in the world to push out an ICS update to its devices.

The update is version 4.0.4 (but that's Archos firmware version, the Android version is 4.0.3) and aside from the all-new ICS bits and pieces, it also comes with a few Archos-specific goodies. The full change log is here.
