There have been rumors regarding a 7-inch iPad going as far back as 2010. While the “iPad Mini” spotted back then certainly wasn't for real, a slew of recent leaks have all but confirmed the 7-inch tablet's existence.  So far, the media have called it the iPad Mini, although until it's announced we really have no idea what Apple will call it. For much of the iOS era, accurate leaks were far and few between.
