China-based e-commerce giant Alibaba is about to introduce its own smartphone by the end of July. The new Android-based Aliyun smartphone, which was manufactured in association with chipset supplier Nvidia and Chinese cell phone maker K-Touch, will feature e-commerce and cloud computing capabilities. The device features a Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, in-house Aliyun mobile OS, and a dedicated cloud button (using the “äº'” character) that functions as a search button. It also offers a variety of apps developed by Alibaba such as Aliyun Notes, Ali Mail, and a dedicated app store.
