Using the iPad 2 in Stroke Recovery - My Family's Experience

from PubMed Health. Almost two months ago, a close family member suffered a devastating stroke. It was a Sunday night, and he and his wife were planning to watch The Amazing Race – or whatever reality show is on that night. (To protect their privacy, I'm going to call them George and Gracie.) George was the type of guy who was always busy, always working on something. He seemed to be in great health, other than an injured shoulder, and he hadn't complained about not feeling well that day. Gracie had gone to take a shower before the show started. When she came out, she saw George slumped over on the bed, and it seemed he had vomited.

New Datel Xbox 360 controller packs LCD screen, parties like it's 1998

Datel's latest controller for the Xbox 360 is inducing waves of nostalgia, with a curious LCD display channeling the ghost of the Sega Dreamcast's VMU. The Turbofire EVO also packs in button mapping and fine-tune rumble options alongside third-party controller staples like turbo button settings. These can all be tweaked through the 1.7-inch screen, with extra custom profiles available if you connect the proudly unofficial controller to a PC.

Knockoff Nokia N9 spotted in China

Wait, when did China get their hands on the Nokia N9. Nope, if you thought that was the Nokia N9, you can't be blamed as it does look rather convincing upon first glance, especially with that garish magenta, which is one of the colors available for the actual Nokia N9 (along with black and turquoise). The device is apparently a knockoff and is attempting to attract those who may purchase it thinking it is the Nokia N9. It has been reported to come priced at just $64 and it is unknown what platform it is running on.

You can always get creative with a bunch of LEGO bricks, but how many of us actually come up with something that is useful and stunning at the same time. LEGO brick engineer PLUM B decided that life's too short to just make simple structures, deciding to take his love for Gears of War to a whole new level with his life-sized Gears of War Lancer Assault Rifle that is made up entirely of what else but LEGO bricks. Heck, it even comes with a clip-fed firing mechanism which won't spit out molten lead, but rather rubberbands, whereas the rather blunt saw blade on the front of the gun will be motorized and ready for action any time when summoned.

Some concepts remain just that – a concept that has not been fleshed out in the form of a prototype, but you can be sure with the latest Tag Heuer chronograph concept, things are different. After all, it is said to be so precise that a blink of the eye might cause you to miss out on its movement – considering it runs on the Mikrotimer Flying 1000′s watch movement that runs at 500Hz. For comparison's sake, other high-end chronos seemingly plod along at 5Hz, so you can tell just what kind of precision level that the Tag Heuer team has been working on.

Microsoft's Canadian division accidentally spilled the beans on a mysterious Nokia phone, bearing the name Sabre. The leak came from a rather unexpected and, dare we say, a bit boring part of the Windows Phone developer competition announcement - the terms and conditions section to be precise. As you can see in the picture above, the Nokia Sabre was mentioned along with its Searay counterpart, and two Samsung devices, dubbed Yukon and Wembley.

If you're tired of your kid hogging your computer all day playing games, perhaps this rather affordable Toshiba kid-friendly laptop might be something you could take into consideration. The Toshiba Satellite L735D is actually the L635 that has been given a makeover along with several kid-friendly features and software. As you can see in the photo above, the makeover included a redesign of the casing which has ended up sporting silver and neon-green colors, which to be honest I find rather appealing (perhaps it's the kid in me talking!).

It looks like BMW may be spreading its ActiveHybrid technology to the 3 Series line in the near future. Autobild is reporting that a battery-laden model will debut shortly after the 2012 3 Series arrives on dealer lots early next year. The report suggests that the company's forced-induction four-cylinder will also show up behind the headlights of the 3 Series in everything but the mighty 335i. The top-of-the-line 3 will continue to boast inline six-cylinder power for the conceivable future.

Verizon Motorola Xoom 4G LTE upgrade now available

Verizon Motorola Xoom 4G LTE upgrade now available

After almost seven months, Verizon is finally able to offer Motorola Xoom owners the 4G LTE upgrade it's been promising ever since it launched the first Android Honeycomb-powered tablet. The hardware upgrade opportunity was supposed to arrive within 90 days of the Xoom's release in February. Obviously, that didn't happen. Then after a long period of silence on the issue, back in July we heard that the upgrade would commence in September.

And so it has. Starting today, you can send your Xoom to Verizon for it to get upgraded to support 4G LTE connectivity. The whole affair should take around six business days. Which, indeed, is quite a lot.

The Bar Tailed Godwit is an incredible creature that currently holds the record for the longest non-stop flight traversing 7,258 miles along a route from Alaska to New Zealand. Inspired by this bird's abilities, designer William Brown created the Lockheed Stratoliner, a futuristic commercial airliner that is designed to fly any distance without the need to stop and refuel. With an aerodynamic, bird-like design, the Stratoliner achieves maximum efficiency by utilizing oversized wings that allow the jet to generate enough lift to fly at very high altitudes.

HTC Hero S coming to US Cellular next month alongside Wildfire S and Flyer

Guess what's officially on its way to US Cellular in October. The headline probably gave you a pretty good clue - it's the HTC Hero S. And it's not coming alone: apparently the new device is big enough to warrant its very own entourage. Its brethren, the Wildfire S and Flyer, will both waltz into stores at roughly the same time. The Gingerbread-running Hero S will offer a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 CPU, 4-inch qHD (960 x 540) display, a 1,520mAh battery and a 5MP CMOS rear camera accompanied by a 1.3MP front-facing cam. Add it to the lineup next to the Motorola Electrify, and we'd say the carrier's got some good options for the getting.
