Steve Ballmer calls it quits, will retire in the next 12 months

Steve Ballmer has officially announced his decision to retire as the CEO of Microsoft in the next 12 months. However, Ballmer will continue to work until his successor is chosen and will then bid a farewell to a position that he held from January 2000. Microsoft's board of Directors have already appointed a committee to direct the process of selection of a new candidate to fill the big shoes.
